Lily & Lucy...

We all know what happens when musicians try to do "something else". It invariably results in asinine literary endeavours, overpriced clothing lines and perfumes that smell like the result of too much Haribo and a carsick child.

Bearing this in mind, you'll forgive me if I was a little cynical about the latest venture of Novello winner and Mummy-to-be, Lily Allen; opening a vintage clothing store called Lucy in Disguise.

The pop-up shop opened yesterday in London's Selfridges, and the store itself will open on the 18th of this month. And it doesn't disappoint. The colourful displays bely an artistic awareness that most high street window dressers lack. Perhaps this is part of the reason for the massive vintage revival - it's like the girl at the back of the class that doesn't have to work hard, because she's just much prettier than you.

The clothes and accessories are accompanied by some treasure's of Lily's own design. The accessories really won it for me - giant Chanel sunnies are almost fashion cliche nowadays, but pair them with acres of Lanvin style tulle skirt and I might have a tiny orgasm and a cupcake.

So Lily triumphs again, taking centre stage at Fashion's Night Out on the 8th...full details can be found here! Seriously beautiful work, to call it a sideline or a project really doesn't do it justice...
